What We Do

Our Programmes

Since 1997, NACODEV has worked alongside communities across Machakos County's semi-arid lands through six integrated programmes: each addressing a root cause of poverty, and each strengthening the other. From water Harvesting sustainable Agriculture and Climate Change, From Supporting basic Education to health, hygeine and Sanitation. From supporting improved livelihoods to empowerment programs. From Capacity building to Training and Empowering Christian Leaders.

Holistic Development Across Every Dimension of Life

Each programme targets a distinct barrier to human flourishing yet all are interconnected. Water harvesting enables enhanced food security through farming. Acquisition of skills to farmers through Capacity Building and Training enhances Sustainable Agriculture. NACODEV seeks to promote health, hygeine and sanittion standards at household levels. We also ensure food secure households and through this concept, vulnerable children are able to have uniterrupted learning while at school for their brighter future and improved Livelihood.

Holistic development approach

Community-Led. Faith-Rooted. Long-Term.

NACODEV does not deliver aid; it builds capacity in a means to transform the beneficiaries mindset. Every programme begins with community mobilization through demand driven approach and trains local people as the primary implementers for self sustatinability. Rooted in Christian values and operating as a development arm of the Ngangani Redeemed Gospel Church. NACODEV's approach integrates spiritual, economic and social development as inseparable aspects of human empowerment and development.

Currently with projects across Yatta, Mwala, Masinga, Kathiani and Machakos sub-counties, the organisation partners with local self-help groups, schools, churches and government extension services to ensure every intervention is contextually appropriate, locally owned and sustainable.

🤝
Community Ownership
